We have acquired many magnificent treasures from Heritage Auctions for our Silver Museum over the years. They typically have between $1,000,000- $2,500,000 in items available per two day sale usually done twice per year. There are many museum quality pieces offered made by Tiffany, Gotham, Reed & Barton, Georg Jensen and many other prestige manufacturers available. You can sometimes get a below market deal, but other times if the item is very very rare and unique, you might have to step up and pay through the nose if it something that you really want badly enough and can get no where else.
Buying by auction can be exhilarating when you win, but on the downside it can be devastating when you lose. We have experienced both sides of this. In the end, it will be patience that allows you to eventually acquire the pieces that you are searching for. Over time, you will become disciplined enough to know when to play or pass.
